Chamber Fall Legislative Luncheon Presented October 24, 2011

Oak Brook – October 24, 2011 – The Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce Fall Legislative Meetings and Luncheon were presented October 24 at the Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook. Approximately 40 CEOs and senior executives representing the largest employers in Oak Brook and Oakbrook Terrace spent the morning in meetings with congressional and state leaders to discuss the chamber’s legislative agenda. The group met with Congressman Peter Roskam and Congresswoman Judy Biggert, U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, then State Representative John Bradley (representing Michael Madigan) and State Senator Toi Hutchinson (representing John Cullerton), and finally with State Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno.

The group asked congressional leaders about their positions and efforts on capital markets, the economy and taxes, education and workforce training, infrastructure, trade and health care. State leaders were asked to address the state budget, pension reform, state economic development efforts, internet sales tax and charity care.

After these meetings, the CEO group joined approximately 150 other Chamber members for the organization’s Fall Legislative Luncheon. During the luncheon, leaders from the CEO group provided full reports on the group’s morning meetings with congressional and state leaders.
