Acme Refining, Chicago’s leading B2B recycling company acquires Ohio electronics recycler

Acme Refining Company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois announces completion of the acquisition of CTRER, Inc., an Ohio corporation that has provided environmentally responsible disposition of end-of-life electronic recycling for over 25 years.

Acme’s services will range from the total destruction of electronic products or medical equipment to sales of salvaged equipment, harvested components, and basic commodities. Acme’s new business unit will bring a level accountability and transparency to electronics recycling that is going to change the game.

Acme ISO 14001 certified electronics division will provide logistics expertise, product identification and reporting, equipment testing and data erasure, product resale, component harvesting, recycling and recovery by means of de-manufacturing and shredding offering environmentally responsible recycling solutions for all types of electronics and medical equipment.

Acme Refining, founded in 1973 by longtime scrap peddler Lou Baron, is the largest privately owned scrap metal company in the Midwest. Acme has grown from a one-man/one truck company to a fleet of over 200 trucks, a team of 25 sales people and over 400 dedicated employees.

Acme began as a scrap metal and processing company, and over the years has expanded to business units including Acme Certified Business Recycling and Acme Document Destruction that provides recycling services to businesses for paper and cardboard, plastics, metals and wood.
